Welcome 2 Only Child Syndrome

It took me a while to decide if I was going to write about being an only child or not. In the end I decided to enlist my young friend (her mom is one of my besties and I consider her my niece) to help me with this project. I am currently self-employed but in reality unemployed. I have some clients but not enough to keep my only child mind active. See at an early age we learn how to keep ourselves busy. Keep ourselves active. Keep ourselves engaged. People think it is this great life. YOU GET EVERYTHING! Let me help you understand I have not got everything! There has always been parameters. Yes they gave me everything they could within reason, but I to had to work to get out of the house, have privileges, and all that goes with it. With that said, my life hasn’t been awful, but it hasn’t been great either. It has, in fact, been just like everyone else in fact. So this blog serves two purposes. To introduce you to life as an only child, and to also introduce you to my work in process. MY BOOK! It may never get published and if it does, it may only sell to a few masses, but it is from the heart. It doesn’t look at being an only child from a psychology point of view but from the advantage point of two girls, one 45, one 17 that have experienced what it is like. I will along the way interview others. I will keep those interviews confidential. they deserve that. This way for the moms and dads of onlies, you get a view inside our head, and those who think we were privileged, you get to see, having the sun rise and set with you and you alone, isn’t what it is always cracked up t be. everything, whether you the first, middle, third, or only, always has its ups and downs. That is just life!
